Thomas Kim
Thomas Kim is the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of The UNX Companies LLC. Under his leadership, UNX aims to make a lasting contribution to the capital markets by helping to improve the technology standards in how institutions trade electronically with their broker-dealer counterparts and how broker-dealers and other 3rd party vendors can deliver proprietary content in a more meaningful way, all through UNX's open technology Catalyst EMS and Portal. Thomas' background uniquely prepares him to lead UNX in its next evolution to not only deliver innovative and practical electronic trading solutions but also equip clients to take control over those solutions through the UNX SDK.
Prior to joining UNX, Thomas served as Managing Director at Lehman Brothers and led the effort in building a global institutional EMS business through the acquired Townsend Analytics subsidiary. Prior to his appointment at Lehman Brothers, Thomas also served as the Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer of TradingScreen Inc., a global provider of automated trade execution and trade-related products and services; Chief Operating Officer of Mandarin Capital Technologies, a global provider of market data, analytics and securities execution platforms; and Chief Operating Officer for FinancialSockets, a global provider of institutional commission management solutions.
Paul Brosche
Paul is the head of UNX’s User Interface technology team. With over 15 years of experience as a software engineer,
he is responsible for the core GUI architecture and development of the Catalyst Platform and open architecture Catalyst Software
Development Kit (SDK). Prior to joining UNX in 2007, Paul was a software architect and principle engineer at Alpine Electronics and has held various
key software development roles at Motorola, Hewlett Packard, Symantec and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Paul is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
Scott Ammaturo
Scott Ammaturo is the head of UNX’s Sales team. With over 15 years of experience,
he is responsible for sales and business development. Prior to UNX, Scott started a program
trading desk at Pulse Trading, built the trading business at BRUT ECN from 10 million to 300 million
shares a day and helped facilitate the BRUT ECN/SUNGARD merger with NASDAQ and INSTINET.
Scott is a graduate of Montclair State University with a degree in Business,
concentrating on Finance and Marketing. He is also a winner of the Paul Scipione Sr. Marketing Award.
Henry Yegerman
Henry Yegerman is the head of UNX Product Management with over 25 years experience creating leading edge financial products. Prior to coming to UNX, he was responsible for the analytics product suite at Investment Technology Group and is the creator of ITG's transaction cost analysis products. Prior to ITG, Henry worked at Morgan Stanley developing new products for equity indices, investment management and prime brokerage.
Henry has written and co-authored numerous papers in the area of trading analytics and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. He has an M.B.A. from New York University and degrees from The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Louvain, Louvain, Belgium.
Steve Gustafson
Steve is the head of UNX's Software Infrastructure technology team. With over 29 years of experience in technology,
Steve is responsible for the design, analysis, and development of the scalable infrastructure that supports Catalyst and
UNX's execution fabric. Upon joining UNX in 2001, he has led core technology development from the firm’s core market data
subsystem to its wide-area message distribution subsystem. He is currently responsible for the firm’s scale-out caching
capability and is UNX’s resident cloud computing expert. Prior to joining UNX, Steve has held management and senior
engineering positions in financial services and aerospace firms that include Chase Credit Systems and NASA’s Jet Propulsion
Laboratory. He is a veteran developer of large-scale, high-performance systems.
Steve is a graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Systems Science; an interdepartmental specialization combining Mathematics, Systems Engineering, and Economics.
Chris Chaffee
Chris is UNX’s Platform Architect and heads up the platform engineering and technology operations teams.
In this role, his responsibilities include the design, implementation and management of the infrastructure supporting
UNX’s Catalyst Platform as well as buy side, sell side, exchange and 3rd party vendor connectivity. Prior to joining
UNX in 2000, Chris worked as a systems engineer for a private marketing firm and was a partner at a technology
consulting firm that focused on developing unique and creative solutions for small-to-medium sized businesses.
Richard Genovese
Richard is the head of UNX's Finance and Accounting team. With over 20 years of finance and accounting experience,
Richard is responsible for managing all aspects of the financial reporting of UNX. Prior to joining UNX in 2008, Richard was
Vice President of Regulatory Reporting at Countrywide Securities Corporation, where he was responsible for regulatory reporting
and also served as Controller, at MarketAxess , a publicly-traded technology internet bond trading company where he was responsible
for the oversight of all controllership and accounting functions. In addition to these firms, he has held key finance roles at
Oppenheim, Appel Dixon & Co., a public accounting corporation, where he was a manager, overseeing broker-dealer audit engagements.
Richard is a graduate from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and holds
a Master’s degree in Accounting from Roosevelt University. He is a member of the AICPA.
Kip Putnam
Kip is the head of UNX's corporate and operational strategy. In this role, she oversees
strategic initiatives internally and externally that contribute to the growth of UNX and improve
operational efficiency. By leveraging the resources of UNX’s human and financial capital as well
as proprietary and public technologies, Kip is charged with assessing and revising current and
prospective business practices to maximize total output. She comes to UNX with a background
in investment banking, public finance and real estate working at such firms as
Merrill Lynch, Chase and Greenwich Capital.
Kip is a graduate of Columbia Business School with an MBA in Finance and also received a Bachelor’s Degree from Colgate University with honors in Economics.
