The Catalyst Portal was built as an extensible .NET-based, broker neutral platform that can be leveraged by institutional clients, broker-dealers, financial marketplaces and third party application vendors to build ideal custom-tailored solutions. Developers with a variety of technical expertise can create Catalyst Portal extensions, called add-ins. This is done by leveraging the UNX Software Development Kit (SDK), which consists of an extensive and growing repository of open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), accompanying documentation and detailed coding examples.
Add-in developers can utilize the entire wealth of .NET tools and libraries, including those offered by Microsoft, third parties, and open source projects. The UNX SDK allows for the benefit of building extensions using any of the .NET managed languages, including dynamic languages, such as Python and Ruby. Additionally, UNX provides a set of web services API’s for integrating with Java-based and other systems that cannot consume .NET API’s directly. The specification for the web services APIs can be provided upon request.
